DataMgr

If the various components are going to be installed on different

machines, the installation sequence is as follows:

• SLD.

• BFS.

• SSD.

• DMFS.

ADIC recommends that each component be started before the

next component is installed. This will ensure that each

component can talk to the others correctly.

From each machine listed in “Complete Table” on Page 1-17,

perform the installations steps below:

Note

The SLD component should be installed ﬁrst and must

be running when the DMFS is installed. This only

applies if the two components are located on different

machines.

Caution

The installation script inserts entries into various system ﬁles.

These entries are encapsulated between special tags. A

typical tag will appear like %CDVSTART_dmfs%. Do not alter or

remove these tag lines.

Caution

If you are upgrading DataMgr, make sure you have a

successful current backup of your BFS Database.
